The PRANA prognostic system identifies the following types of defect and deviations of high capacity power generating gas turbines well in advance:
- Deterioration and damage of compressor and turbine blading:
- reduced fuel utilisation efficiency;
- increased harmful emissions;
- clogging, surge, damage of compressors, combustion chamber housing and gas turbines;
- cooling air leaks;
- fouling and damage of blades except for already existing defects in material structure or structural defects or damage caused by acts/omissions of operating personnel or Service Organizations.
- Deterioration and damage of support and thrust parts of turbine and generator bearings: wear, imbalance, misalignment.
- Deterioration and damage of burners.
- Deterioration of air cleaning quality, fouling of demisters, coarse and fine filters of inlet air filter unit, reduced efficiency of anti-icing system, irregular flow distribution, and aerodynamic resistance.
- Deterioration of governor performance: responsiveness, stability, sensitivity.
