The delegation from the Sverdlovsk Region, headed by Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev, paid a working visit to the Republic of Belarus. The Ural Turbine Works was represented by Mikhail Lifshitz, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Special attention was given to cooperation in the energy sector during meetings with the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and the Prime Minister, Sergey Rumas, and also at the meeting of the Council for Business Cooperation of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Republic of Belarus.

“Our joint projects in the field of energetics occupy a significant share in the volume of mutual trade. 60 % of the turbines we use in Belarus are produced in the Urals,” said Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, at a meeting with members of the delegation.

In recent years, the Ural Turbine Works has completed three projects to upgrade basic energy equipment and supply components to power plants in Belarus. Today, four more projects are underway. Their total sum exceeds 5 billion Russian rubles.

“We do not just supply turbines to Belarus; we have built with our colleagues a system of comprehensive engineering and technical support of equipment during its repairs and upgrades. We also offer a digital system for predicting equipment condition known as PRANA. This system is capable of seeing the development of a malfunction three to four months before it is detected by a standard control system. Today we are the only manufacturer in the world to install a prognostics system on a turbine already in the process of its manufacture. I hope that this will be another of our projects in Belarus,” Mikhail Lifshitz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ural Turbine Works, said following the talks.

Also during the meetings, deliveries of TEEMP (a company of ROTEC) supercapacitor modules, which are one of the key elements of the diesel-electric drive of the Belkommunmash hybrid bus, were discussed. The bus has already been successfully tested at the training ground and is currently transporting passengers around the streets of Minsk. Based on the results of its operation, a reduction in fuel consumption by more than 20 % has already been confirmed.
